Be part of the crew sailing the beautiful 100ft gaff-rigged schooner heading out to the open ocean travelling for 7 adventure-filled days. There will be many beautiful spots to stop, swim, snorkel and explore along the magnificent Queensland coast From Townsville to Mackay. 

South Passage is a sail training ship. As a part of our voyage crew, you will be taking part in all aspects of operating the ship - hoisting sails, keeping a lookout, doing anchor watch, navigating, taking the helm, daily maintenance and cleaning. There will also be time to enjoy the environment - the sea life, the exhilaration of sailing, swimming and exploring onshore.

NO ALCOHOL on board - as a sail training ship, South Passage is a dry ship.

PROPOSED ITINERARY

Day 1: Townsville to Cape Cleveland via Magnetic Island.

Day 2: Cape Cleveland to Whitsunday Group via Cape Upstart.

Days 3-5: Sailing within the Whitsundays – progressively heading south.  Possible highlights include Butterfly Bay, Nara Inlet, Cid Harbour, walk up Whitsunday Peak and Whitehaven Beach, Goldsmith
Island arriving at Brampton Island.

Day 6: Morning walk on Brampton Island followed by an afternoon sail to
Scawfell Island.

Day 7: Walk on Scawfell Island before sailing to Mackay to disembark.

Each day's precise itinerary will be determined by the prevailing weather conditions.
